Why did you choose phenox as an employer?

After my apprenticeship I was looking for my first professional challenge when I came across the medium-sized company phenox in the heart of the Ruhr Area. The location as well as the familiar atmosphere with the back then about 50 employees convinced me to want to grow professionally at phenox and to contribute to its mission.

What is your daily work routine like?

At the moment, I am updating the clinical evaluation of one of our first marketed products together with a colleague. Due to the diversity of a clinical evaluation and the tasks surrounding its preparation and updating, it is not possible to speak of a simple "day-to-day work".

What exciting projects are you working on right now?

The further preparation and conversion of our processes within the framework of the new Medical Device Regulation are very exciting, as they also bring new challenges with them. Furthermore, we receive important feedback on our products through the exchange with clinical users in the context of clinical market monitoring. In this way, we are constantly expanding our knowledge of the products and the diseases to be treated.

What is the biggest challenge in your work?

The balancing act between clinical affairs and quality management. In the context of creating or updating clinical evaluations, the documentation effort should not be underestimated, especially with regard to new regulations such as the MDR.

Why did you exactly choose this job?

To be honest, at that time I didn't really know what to expect as a newcomer in my field at phenox. However, thanks to the support of my colleagues, I had no trouble getting started. Thanks to my foreign language training, I can contribute to and "mediate" in many other departments of the company.

What three terms come to mind when you think of phenox?
  1. Innovation: phenox always knows how to reinvent itself; especially through the development of innovative products oriented to customer needs.

  2. Teamwork: Because only by working as a team each of us can achieve theirs goals.

  3. Quality management: Only by means of a high functioning quality management can a medical device company survive on the market.

What role does teamwork play at phenox?

Teamwork is the key for excellent work. Within our department, we live by the motto "One for all and all for one" - which means if one of us gets stuck somewhere, we can rely 100% on the other colleagues. Only this way it is possible to find solutions even for complex problems!

What do you particularly appreciate about phenox?

Regular interdepartmental meetings ensure that all colleagues are on board and kept up to date with the latest developments. This continuous communication enhances the working atmosphere enormously.

What do you look forward to most when you come to work?

To my colleagues and the new challenges that every day brings - and of course to the flat rate for drinks.
