When Hermann Monstadt founded phenox GmbH as a start-up in 2005, the former small company consisted of only a handful of employees and one idea. The goal was to develop future-oriented and clinically proven technologies to treat strokes and aneurysms in the brain. Over the years, phenox proved to be a successful concept, as the young company developed rapidly and now employs around 300 people internationally. With the move to our extended building area soon to follow, the number is on the rise and we are always looking for qualified and motivated employees.

The high-tech products are used all over the world and Hermann Monstadt, one of the two managing partners at phenox, is proud of the development: "We started with just one product line in the beginning and now have 15 in our range! With our constant innovation, there will be more upcoming products added in the next few years to expand our portfolio in the stroke sector."

The promotion of young talent is an important concern at phenox, also due to the immediate proximity to the Ruhr University and the Bochum University of Applied Sciences. We offer pupils and students the opportunity to get a closer look at the diverse activities in the company through internships. For example, pupils who have completed their school-leaving certificate after the eleventh grade can acquire the practical part of their school-leaving certificate through a one-year internship with us.

In addition, we also offer the possibility of completing a dual training programme, which includes training as a precision mechanic as well as an academic degree as a Bachelor of Science in the field of medical technology. For prospective students, we offer pre-study and orientation internships, and students who are already studying for a Bachelor's or Master's degree within a technical or business management course can gain their first work experience with us during their studies. It is not without reason that the number of current employees at phenox who have written their bachelor's or master's thesis in close cooperation with our company is very high. Sales

In the sales department of phenox you can expect a highly interesting, challenging and satisfying job. Professionally and personally on a very high level, you are the first contact person for our customers and users in Interventional Neuroradiology.

Clinical Specialist

Clinical specialist supports the sales team and helps users to treat patients successfully. They are there to ensure that the technically complex and sophisticated systems can be successfully used to treat patients, to support and advise the physician on a technical level.

Information Technology (IT)

As an IT administrator, you will always be the first point of contact for colleagues when it comes to supporting any computer problems at the workplace and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. The person in charge when it comes to information and technology matters.

Human Resources and Law

HR covers the interface to all other departments of our company. As part of our group of six professionals, you will provide support and advice to our company's employees and managers on all HR-related topics and their other concerns.

Finance and Controlling

Finance is responsible for the preparation of the local financial data of the headquarter and subsidiaries as well as for the annual financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards (IFRS).

Our controlling department prepares the navigation and control of the company information processing of the company data from the individual departments.

Marketing and Training

Marketing requires creative, communicative and innovative minds for phenox's entire marketing strategy and communication, ensuring a consistent brand presence. The scope of duties in our marketing department is extremely multifaceted and primarily includes the development and execution of global product launches and promotion strategies as well as product training for our employees and healthcare professionals

Research & Development

In our R&D department, you will work within a project on the development of class 3 medical devices and go through all development phases from idea development, through technical documentation for product certification, to transfer to production.

Back Office and Customer Service

Back office is responsible for the field staff in all matters relating to customers. Customer Service is the international sales interface between our customers/distributors as well as our globally active sales representatives.

Production

For our production teams a large part of their work is done using a microscope, either in the laser lab, in the assembly lab or in the clean room. All three areas cover important production steps and thus contribute to the high product quality that will eventually ensure patients around the world can be treated in a safe and effective way.

Process Management & Quality Assurance

Process management is responsible for ensuring and steering the production processes for manufacturing marketable products. Quality assurance includes all planned and systematic activities that are realized within the quality assurance system. 

Clinical Affairs

The Clinical Affairs team is responsible for the design, execution and documentation of clinical studies as well as the ongoing clinical evaluation of the entire product portfolio. This way, phenox can guarantee the safe and effective use of its products in the market. Since reimbursement of medical devices often relies on clinical evidence, the Clinical Affairs department also supports reimbursement efforts of phenox products in various countries.

Precision Mechanic

Precision mechanics are assigned either to resource management, development or process management. They produce prototypes and also medical products ready for series production, which tested extensively.

Resource Management

Resource management responsible for maintenance, servicing and calibration of the operating equipment.

Quality Management & Regulatory Affairs

Quality Management covers various aspects of the regulatory requirements for a medical device manufacturer like phenox. The most important area is medical device approval, where the team is the interface between the different departments in phenox and the notified body as well as other official regulatory or government authorities.

Purchasing

Purchasing is responsible to handle all of the purchase activity and transactional process. The purchasing activity covered all of the required tool, programs, items and other products that the company needs in order to fulfill the work process.
